A Family Story in the Heart of Dingle

McKenna’s of Dingle has been part of life in Dingle for generations. Beginning as a traditional drapery and grocery store, the business grew alongside the town and the families who lived here.

Over the years, McKenna’s has changed and evolved, but the things that matter have remained much the same — personal service, quality products, strong local roots and a genuine connection to Dingle and the wider peninsula.

In its early years, McKenna’s was closely connected to Dingle’s fishing and maritime community. The business smoked its own mackerel and exported it to Spain — a reminder of Dingle’s long trading links beyond the peninsula.

McKenna’s was also known locally for the baking of Mrs Mary McKenna, whose homemade breads and baked goods became another much-loved part of the family business and everyday life in Dingle.
