Our Story
McKennas of Dingle
Established 1605 – A Legacy of Atlantic Heritage
The McKennas of Dingle have been in business since 1605, serving generations along Ireland’s Atlantic coast. In the early 1900s, the family established the drapery and grocery store that became a cornerstone of Dingle town.
With deep ties to the sea, McKennas once smoked its own mackerel and exported it to San Sebastián, becoming one of Dingle’s largest mackerel exporters. The store was also fondly known for Mrs. Mary McKenna’s homemade baking, cherished by the local community.
Still family-run today, McKennas continues to uphold the same values of quality, tradition, and warm personal service.
From 1605 to today, our story remains woven into the fabric of Dingle and the Atlantic beyond.
